CHEF KNIVES
After BLADE show 2019, I wanted to expand my horizons even more, and I looked to something I never before attempted: chef knives. These knives were thinner than I had ever forged before, longer than my average knife, and more complex Damascus patterns than I ever attempted. I scraped my first several blades. The length and thinness tested my patience. and the long hours of forging complex Damascus proved demanding. In the end I finally broke into a new range of knives I had never made before, and the difficulty I experienced in the beginning made the success even sweeter.
I still have many more styles I want to try but after finally getting my first chef knife under my belt, I am ready to try more. This page showcases all of my chef knives made to date. If you click on each image, it has a brief description of the materials used and, if Damascus, the pattern type and layer count.
