fixed blade knivesAlthough my favorite thing to make is tomahawks, I do enjoy making knives. I make mostly skinning knives and EDC knives. On occasion I make more collector type Bowie knives. I also have made a number of fillet knives, and I enjoy working the blade down thin and getting the flexibility just right for filleting fish.
I use carbon steel and stainless steel for my knives. Which alloy I use depends on customer preference. For stainless, my go-to steel is Nitro-V. I also use S30V and Magnacut. For carbon steel, I have used 80CrV2, 1095, A2, and D2. I can also use another type of alloy if a customer has a specific preference. Here is a gallery of my past work. While most of them shown have belt finishes, I am starting to drift away from that and more towards all hand-rubbed finishes. Yes, it takes more time and costs more. But I am trying to bring up my quality and fit-and-finish as a whole. If you order anything from me in the future, hand-finished blades will be standard. |
